Prof. Noureddine Benkeblia joined as Editor-in-Chief

Professor of Crop Science in the Department of Life Sciences, Faculty of Science & Technology at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Prof. Noureddine Benkeblia has been working on food sciences and technologies from 1991. He joined Plant Science Today as honorary Editor-in-Chief in June 2014. Dr. Noureddine Benkeblia has established a record of original research in a wide range of areas including food chemistry, postharvest biology of horticulture crops and plant biochemistry in several countries across the world. His research includes biochemical and physiological parameters of crops including respiratory parameters, sugars and fructans metabolism, as well as technological parameters for crop preservation.  His work has appeared in a number of high impact journals, including Food Chemistry, New Phytologist, Journal of Food Biochemistry, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Tetrahedron Asymmetry, Postharvest Biology and technology, Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture among others. Professor Benkeblia serves on a number of editorial boards of international scientific journals and is also engaged as a reviewer for over twenty fiev international scientific and high impact journals. He also serves as the Scientific Expert of the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP). He is a member of a number of local and international scientific and professional organizations including the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS) and the Jamaica Society for Agricultural Sciences (JAGRIS).
