The main objectives of this subject are to describe the Plant Kingdom and to classify it in distinct units. The resulting classification has to reflect phylogenetic relationships between the plant groups. In this age of increased awareness on the importance of conservation of Biodiversity, Plant Systematic studies have gained major importance globally. In order to create awareness in this discipline, a Special issue of the Journal is proposed.

MAKE A SUBMISSION

The potential topics
• Original papers on taxonomic revision
• New taxa
• New records
• Critical notes on nomenclature and typification of plant names

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Articles with word count more than 2500

US$240 - Authors from high income countries

US$120 - Authors from lower middle income countries

Articles with word count less than 2500

US$120 - Authors from high income countries

US$60 - Authors from lower middle income countries

Editor for the Special Issue

Dr. Tapas Chakrabarty, retired as Scientist “D” from Botanical Survey of India, Industrial Section, Indian Museum, Kolkata, in December, 2014. When a new issue is published (PST has 4 issues in a year), the already published early access article will be shifted to the new issue, but the DOI number remains the same.

Download statistics of the Early access article will be carried forward when it is added to an issue. This means you will not loose any download or even abstract view statistics from your early access version of your article.

Article version number changes. When the early access article is shifted to an issue, it will be assigned a new version and it will be displayed on the journal web page. But this will not affect the PDF copy of your article, which remains the same.

Explore https://horizonepublishing.com/journals/index.php/PST/forthcoming

Submit a Manuscript now!
2021-09-11T12:19:57-06:00https://horizonepublishing.com/journals/index.php/PST/announcement/view/87Plant Science Today in Social Networks2021-09-11T12:06:17-06:00Plant Science Today
Scientists and academics are using various social network platforms in their professional lives. Please visit your Profile page to create/add your ORCID id.

ORCID id has several uses:

ORCIDs protects your unique scholarly identity
There are thousands of people per unique surname in China. That’s a lot of “Wang”s! Same for lots of other names.. You’ll probably still need ORCID if you plan to assume your family name, or accidentally omit your middle initial from the byline when submitting a manuscript. ORCID solves the author name problem by giving individuals a unique, 16-digit numeric identification number that lasts over time.

ORCID supports 37 types of “works,” from articles to dance performances
Any type of scholarly output you create, ORCID can handle. Are you a traditional scientists, who writes only papers and the occasional book chapter? ORCID can track ‘em. Are you instead a cutting-edge computational biologist who releases datasets and figures for your thesis, as they are created? ORCID can track that, too.

ORCID is glue for all your research services
You can connect your ORCID account with websites including Web of Science, Figshare, and Impactstory, among many others. Once they’re connected, you can easily push information back and forth between services–meaning that a complete ORCID record will allow you to automatically import the same information to multiple places, rather than having to enter the same information over and over again on different websites.

Journals, funders & institutions are moving to ORCID
Some of the world’s largest publishers, funders, and institutions have adopted ORCID. Over 1000 journals, including publications by PLOS, Nature, and Elsevier, are using ORCID as a way to make it easier for authors to manage their information in manuscript submission systems. ORCID can also collect your publications from across these varied services, making it possible to aggregate author-level metrics.

When everyone has an ORCID identifier, scholarship gets better
How many hours have you wasted by filling in your address, employment history, collaborator names and affiliations, etc when applying for grants or submitting manuscripts? For many publishers and funders, you can now simply supply your ORCID identifier, saving you precious time to do research.

2017-03-25T11:25:45-06:00https://horizonepublishing.com/journals/index.php/PST/announcement/view/63Publication fees withdrawn for next issue2017-03-25T09:19:11-06:00Plant Science TodayTo attract high quality manuscripts, we decided to withdraw Author Processing Charges (APC) for the next issue (Vol. 4, No. 2). You may submit original research papers or review articles. See instructions to authors’ page for more details of preparing the manuscripts and submission process. Our review, editorial and other policies are described at the Policies section.2017-03-25T09:19:11-06:00https://horizonepublishing.com/journals/index.php/PST/announcement/view/62Publishing conference papers2016-12-12T17:43:32-07:00Plant Science Today
For efficient delivery of research findings presented in a conference, speedy publication of the papers based on the conference presentation is inevitable. Plant Science Today starts publishing conference papers from Vol. 4, issue no. 1 (publication date: 1 Jan 2017) onwards.

How it works

The following conditions are applicable for considering a conference paper for publishing in Plant Science Today:

The paper must have accepted for a conference or presented either as oral or poster in a recently held event.

The full paper of the presentation should not be available on the Internet (which would attract plagiarism).

The submitted paper will be subjected to peer review from at least one subject expert and acceptance will be decided by the Editor in Chief based on the recommendation provided by the independent reviewer.

The length of the paper may vary depending on the study. It has been really difficult to choose between all of you that expressed an interest to our new service, but only five institutions can be our beta testers.

In order to select fairly our beta testers, we decided to set two main criteria: a) metadata completeness and b) the geographical distribution. Regarding the first one, we tried to select those collections that provide rich bibliographic information with high quality metadata. At the same time, we aimed at a variety of geographical coverage. Therefore, we have beta testers from different regions around the world! Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America.

But even with these criteria, it has been really difficult to have our final five selected organizations! For this reason, we decided that all of you that expressed an interest to our new service in this phase, you will be high in the list of our newest services coming in the near future.

And now, we proudly announce our five beta testers:
- The Russian Journal of Agricultural and Socio-Economic Sciences, RJOAS (Russia)
- Plant Science Today (India)
- Journal of Bioenergy and Food Science (Brazil)
- International Journal of Food and Agricultural Economics (Turkey)
- OMICS International (United States)

(Soon we will contact you with further details on how to proceed)

To all of you, we send our warm wishes.. and stay tuned for the next services that are coming up!!

On Behalf of the AKstem team,

Effie Tsiflidou
Information Scientist, MSc

--
Effie Tsiflidou|Data Curation Manager
Agro-Know
Email: effie@agroknow.gr
Website: www.agroknow.gr
Tel: +30 210 6897 905
Fax: +30 210 6891 961
Address: 17 Grammou Str., Vrilissia GR15235, Greece
2015-08-06T04:03:45-06:00https://horizonepublishing.com/journals/index.php/PST/announcement/view/39Special Issue on "Advances in Bryophytes Research"2015-07-16T10:37:18-06:00Plant Science Today
Bryophytes are small, non-vascular plants, such as mosses, liverworts and hornworts. Established in 2000 by scholarly publishers as an independent, non-profit entity, it enables researchers to navigate electronic journals, across publishers, based on open-standards technology (the Digital Object Identifier, or DOI, system).

Citations represent the evolution of ideas, as one author builds on or challenges the research of another. CrossRef allows the user to move from one article to another at the citation level, regardless of journal or publisher. Without full-text citation linking, the user who discovers a desired resource while reading usually has to switch to a different search interface to locate and ultimately access that resource. With CrossRef, it only takes a click or two to get to the full text, either as an authenticated user or through pay-per-view services.

The costs of the CrossRef system are borne by publishers - hence free to the end-user - because publishers recognize the necessity of adding links from references to full text. When you see a reference hyperlink identified as "CrossRef", "article", or "full text" (CrossRef does not insist on branding its links), you'll know it was built using the CrossRef system.

- See more at: http://www.crossref.org/05researchers/index.html#sthash.mdJnApHI.dpuf

2013-12-24T10:19:01-07:00https://horizonepublishing.com/journals/index.php/PST/announcement/view/7Press Releases, Reports and News Coverage2013-11-13T00:00:00-07:00Plant Science Today
Press Releases

Sl.
