Abstract
The experiment was laid out at the Vegetable Research Farm, Bihar Agricultural University Sabour, in (Summer, 2022) E1, (Rainy, 2022) E2 and (Winter, 2022) E3. In this experiment, a full diallel mating design was used to develop 30F1 using 6 parents namely, Narendra Jyoti (NJ), BRBG-65 (BG-65), BRBG-23 (BG-23), Pusa Naveen (PN), BRBG-21-2 (BG-21-2) and RBG. The 30F1, 6 parents and one check, namely, Kashi Ganga, was sown in Randomized block design (RBD). Using the Eberhart and Russell stability model, the study evaluated key traits, including fruit weight (g), fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), number of fruits per vine, fruit yield per vine (kg), fruit yield per plot (kg) and fruit yield (q/ha), to determine the adaptability and stability of different genotypes across environments. Based on the results BG-23 × BG-65, BG-65 × BG-21-2, PN × BG-21-2 and PN were superior for fruit length (cm) and BG-23 × RBG and RBG for diameter of fruit (cm) and for yield traits, Round bottle gourd (RBG) × BRBG-21-2 was identified as stable for number of fruit per vine, Narendra Joyti × BRBG-65, BRBG-65 × Round bottle gourd (RBG), Pusa Naveen × Round bottle gourd (RBG) for yield per vine (kg), yield per plot (kg) and yield per hectare (q) were found stable in all 3 environments.
